where

This command enables people to find where other people are. It is aliased to 'wa', 'wz', and 'lc' for compatibility with Tapestries. Unlike Tapestries, it will laundry-list people in the location. For this reason, areas and locations can be set private. Additionally, spaces you don't own can be set temporarily private if you don't want to attract attention to where you are.

Arguments

Command What It Does
where
Displays where people are
where #help
Directs you to view this Wiki page cause I'm too lazy to put inline help.
where #privatefor 123
Set the current room private for the next '123' hours. Replace '123' with some reasonable number. Set this to 0 to clear the temporary privacy setting.

Configuration

There is only one setting most people will care about:

@set here=_sfwhere/private:yes

to set the current room private or:

@set here=_sfwhere/private:no

to set the room public. By default, all rooms on the ship are public except rooms on Deck 3 (i.e. where most people's quarters are). Child rooms inherit the setting of the parent room(s) they exist under. If a room is built outside of the ship (i.e. not in the Legacy's main parent room), it will default to private.

You could also set yourself private if you wanted to, though this goes against the spirit of the MUCK. However, if for RP purposes it makes sense to do so, the above comamnds would work with @set me=… as well.

To configure a parent room as a zone, i.e. something with its own heading under the 'where' list, you would set the zone property:

@set #1234=_zone:Some Zone Text for Parent Room #1234

You don't normally want to do this, but it's a feature so it is noted here just in case it matters at some point.
