====== Overview ======
Space Fox MUCK (SFM) is a private, invite-only MUCK.  So if you are invited, chances are, the person vouching for you is asserting your behavior is within the realm of acceptable.  However, here are guidelines and rules for behavior.  By playing on the MUCK, you are agreeing to abide by these rules.

  * You must be 18 years old or older in real life.  Characters played may be of any age, but bear in mind there aren't going to be "loose children" so if you play a young character, that character must have some parents and a story as to why they are on the ship.
  * You must have a strong desire to roleplay.  This MUCK is for roleplay.  Yes, OOC chatting can and will happen; however you understand the goal is to pursue roleplay
  * To that end, you understand that this is not a MUCK to trawl for booty.  If the primary activity you wish to engage in is sexual, then please take it elsewhere.  Sexual roleplay may happen in the course of storytelling or interactions with others, but this cannot and should not be your primary reason to play on this MUCK.
  * Related, you understand that engaging in sexual behaviors on the MUCK that would get you in trouble in RL will probably get you in IC trouble and potentially fired from the ship (...which means your character will be removed).  For instance, public sex acts, inappropriate sexual relations with a minor character, and sexual harassment are all things that can get you fired.
  * That said, if you're caught with a co-worker in a broom closet somewhere, that is more likely to be a stern IC reprimand than a termination.  If you choose to engage in risky behaviors such as that, consider it to be an IC risk.
  * No logs are kept by the system administrators.  However, most players log things, so be warned that anything you do may be recorded for posterity (but not by the MUCK owner).
  * No divisive RL stuff -- speaking about politics, etc.  This is a place for roleplay and to escape that crap.  Please respect that nobody shares your opinions and thus you should keep them to yourself.
  * The MUCK admins may moderate IC things or OOC disputes, but at the end of the day, we're all adults here and we have to work out our problems ourselves.  As a small MUCK with only a handful of players, it is important to talk out your problems and resolve them because avoiding people will be difficult at best.
  * Underage characters are permitted.  Use your damn sense though and read the room when it comes to your behavior.  Those under the age of 16 should not be engaging in sexual activities; 16 and 17 year olds may engage as long as everyone around them is comfortable with it.  If anyone isn't comfortable, then take it elsewhere.  Anyone causing problems with this will be spaced.
  * Try to "take your licks".  Meaning, if something happens to you ICly that is negative, do your best to accept it graciously and move on.  Negative things happen to people, it's part of story telling.  Try to use it as a means to grow your character or add an interesting aspect.  This can be difficult, we tend to love our characters and want them to be happy.  But negative things happening is what causes growth.  If you turn into a very whiney person about this, you will be asked to leave.

That's it.  This isn't an exhaustive list, of course.  It boils down to the following principles: use your common sense, treat people like they're your friends, and work out your problems like adults.
